Hi Elizabeth, Aaron, Catherine, Jacob, and Cora!!
This week (among many other things) I got the new satellite system installed. Even though it is a larger system (3 dishes instead of one--if you really want to know why 3, let me know the next time you're having trouble falling asleep and I'll explain it) it was easier than most because it's on a flat roof. Here's a picture at dusk from the roof overlooking Champaign.
Here is one of the touchpanels in the 3rd Floor conference room tables. There are four rooms, with similar systems in each. Two rooms have 90" projection screens, the other two have 52" LCD flat panels. You can't see them, but there are cables to connect your laptop inside the enclosure. The lid closes flush to the table when not in use. "Cool" you say? Thank you.
This is the equipment closet. We call the equipment rack on the wall "mini me". The other rack (not installed yet) is 7 feet tall. Some things are just funny after 2am.This is most of the wiring for "me" (that's the 7' rack). We still have 2 or 3 days of wire pulling to add to this, including the 2nd Floor Boardroom (or Boredroom if you prefer). That has a pretty cool projector installation, I'll post pictures when I get them.
Anyway, thanks Aaron, Catherine, and Jacob for pretending you remember who I am. Thanks Elizabeth for doing a great job as a single mom. Oh yeah, and for not calling the police when I show up in the middle of the night. Thanks Cora for scooting over and not making me sleep on the couch!
As things progress I'll write more!
Love you,
Dad
